3:30 P.M. - Registration Begins and Food Stall (CASH ONLY) open for purchase. Be sure to take a family picture against the photo backdrop before proceeding to check out the vendors and sponsors of the event.

4.00 to 5.30 and 6.00 to 7.30 pm - Henna and Face Painting.

4.30 - Cultural Program

5.45 to 6.15 pm - Break

6.00 - Pizza sale for kids

6.15 to 7.30 - Cultural Program

Soumya Rajaram is a well known Bharatanatyam dancer in the Boston area. She also runs Samskrithi - dance school at Lexington, where she teaches students of all ages. She is trained at The Kalakshetra Foundation continues her learning with Shri.Sheejith Krishna - one of India's leading dancer and founder of Sahrdaya Foundation. Soumya is a two-time finalist of the fellowship award by Massachusetts cultural council. Soumya is extremely happy to present at the Diwali celebrations of her hometown Lexington.
Soumya will present a Thillana - a piece in the traditional Bharatanatyam repertoire that expresses the joy, exuberance and the spirit of dance. This Thillana is in Madhuvanti raag, popular composition of maestro Lalgudi Jayaraman, choreographed by Padmashri Leela Samson.

Ajay is local artist / singer living in Lexington, Massachusetts and has been part of the IAL Diwali team over the years. His interest in music & singing started early during his school days. In New England, Ajay has performed through various stage shows and most notably he performed with the Lexington Symphony Orchestra which was a unique opportunity to mix hindi movie songs with western orchestra. Ajay will be performing a short collection of popular Bollywood songs from the 70' & 80's at IAL Diwali Mela.
